What's that right there?

Ok, so you might be wondering...
"What exactly are The Velveteen Principles?" Well, remember that children's story The Velveteen Rabbit?

What does it mean to be real?

For the velveteen rabbit, becoming real meant learning to be truly himself and not a version of something he thought he was supposed to be. Because it's based on our individuality, the concept of real is different for everyone, just as the purpose of life is varied in perspective. In a society consumed by Euro-centrism, assimilation, and an abundance of destructive social constructs, The Velveteen Principles begins with the argument that it is possible to be a true individual and a genuine entity in this illusionary world.

And if there's anything guaranteed in life it includes feelings of happiness and contentment, work that is engaging, relationships that feel satisfying, and enough love that we don't feel alone in the world. The Velveteen Principles can help you discover and develop your real self, live with empathy and establish satisfying relationships. The qualities that make us real help us to connect with others and live in a more deeply satisfying, engaging and appreciative wavelength. Once you truly tap into your geniune essence and you know that everything you say and do matters to others, you can also understand that we each leave an impact on the world that remains long after we're gone.

Hmph. Def food for thought.
